The Dutch economy is taking a big hit from the coronavirus pandemic. Some industries suffer more than others. Piant BV Waalwijk supplies mainly to the industrial sector, a sector that took the first hits. “By anticipating quickly on what was still possible, we were able to keep our production running”.
Councillor Ronald Bakker (Economics) visited the Waalwijk family company that provides punching and laser cutting services for the industrial, plastics, graphic and leather sectors. Robert Brekelmans shares that after the leather- and shoe industry withdrew from the Langestraat, there was an inevitable shift to other industries, particularly the graphics and plastic industry. “Today, we punch and (laser) cut all shapes and materials for various companies”.
